St. Peregrine
Feast Day: May 1
Patron of persons suffering from cancer, AIDS, and other life-threatening illnesses
St. Peregrine was born in Forli, Italy in 1265. He was ordained a priest. A few years later, a cancerous growth appeared on his right foot. The night before his amputation surgery, he spent much time in prayer. He dozed off and dreamed that Christ touched him and healed his foot. When he awoke, he saw that his foot was completely healed.
